Kewatec has delivered the new Roope-Botnia to the Keep the Archipelago Tidy Association. The workboat, based on the Kewatec Work 1500 model, will operate in the archipelago between Malax and Kokkola and will enter service in spring 2026.

A Shared Goal: A Functional and Clean Archipelago

Kewatec and the Keep the Archipelago Tidy Association share the same ambition: a cleaner sea and a well-functioning archipelago. The collaboration is built on practical needs and clear objectives. The atmosphere at the handover ceremony was positive and focused on the work at hand.
“Roope-Botnia is a demonstration of what happens when expertise meets a genuine desire to do things right,” says Regional Manager Jukka Lundell from the association.

Designed for the Needs of the Archipelago

Roope-Botnia was built at Kewatec’s shipyard in Kokkola. Its marine-aluminium hull, fuel-efficient engine solution and carefully considered design make the vessel powerful, efficient, and economical to operate. The equipment enables waste collection, material transport and maintenance tasks in varying weather conditions. Above all, the boat is a reliable tool.
“Roope-Botnia is built to work, not to wait for better weather. It is stable, efficient and easy to operate,” Lundell adds.

Responsibility in Action

For Kewatec, responsibility is not a separate goal – it is a way of working. Environmentally friendly materials, energy efficiency and long service life are integral to every design decision. The cooperation between Kewatec and the Keep the Archipelago Tidy Association continues with the same focus as before: building boats that serve both people and the environment.
