As part of Kewatec’s ongoing mission to provide reliable and advanced vessels for search and rescue operations, the company has delivered the fourth SAR boat to the Icelandic Search and Rescue Association (ICE-SAR), Slysavarnafélagið Landsbjörg. The handover ceremony took place at the Rescue 24 event in Reykjavik, Iceland.
Built to withstand challenging conditions, the boat is designed to enhance the efficiency and safety of rescue operations. The new SAR boat, named Björg, is a 17-meter, self-righting boat equipped with two Scania DI13 551 kW engines and Hamilton HJ403 waterjet propulsion systems. Over the past three years, Kewatec has delivered four SAR boats to ICE-SAR, and this strong partnership continues with the signing of a contract for a fifth boat. This collaboration highlights Kewatec’s focus on providing dependable and innovative solutions for organizations dedicated to saving lives.
