Our Ambulance 2280 CAT boats were christened in a spectacular ceremony named Romsdalsjenta and Mørejenta this week. The event took place in Aukra, on the west coast of Norway, between Ålesund and Kristiansund. Representatives from Buksér og Berging, Ida Rist-Maastad, and Sjur Jacobsen christened the boats.
The names of the boats reflect their dedicated service areas. With a length of 22.8 meters and 7.6 meters wide, equipped with 2 x 1200-liter fuel tanks and a 335-liter fresh water tank, the Ambulance 2280 CAT catamarans are ready to play a key role in improving emergency services in the Norwegian archipelagos. The boats feature two Volvo Penta D13-1000 engines and Kongsberg Kamewa waterjets. According to users, the boats move so quietly that they are barely noticed.
Our boats have received plenty of praise from various quarters. Especially, the finishing of aluminum welding has caught the attention of many. Local health authorities have hailed the floating hospital as one of the country’s best medical offices.
We wish Romsdalsjenta and Mørejenta success in future assignments.
