Kewatec had the pleasure of hosting Kovatec – Civil Security Days 2025 on May 20–21 in Kokkola, Finland. The two-day event gathered maritime professionals, authorities, and industry leaders from across Europe to explore the future of civil maritime security and high-performance vessels.
Held at Kokkola City Hall and Kewatec Shipyard, the event featured keynote speeches, expert panels, live demonstrations, factory tours, and over 120 test-drive slots aboard Kewatec’s made-to-order SAR and pilot boats.
Highlights included:
- Thought-provoking talks from experts in search and rescue, AI, national preparedness, and defence
- A panel discussion on evolving demands for multipurpose vessels
- Supplier showcases and hands-on vessel presentations at the shipyard
- A lively evening gathering at Mustakari, featuring Finnish food, sauna, and live music
- A public display of one of our new SAR vessels at the Kokkola town square
The atmosphere throughout was collaborative, forward-thinking, and filled with valuable connections. Attendees praised both the content and the hands-on nature of the event, as well as Kewatec’s professionalism and warm hospitality.
“Kovatec gave us the chance to not only show what we build—but how we work, think, and collaborate,” says Lars Olaussen, COO at Kewatec. “We’re proud of our vessels, but even more proud of the people behind them.”
We extend a heartfelt thank you to all participants, speakers, partners, and sponsors who made Kovatec possible. Let’s keep the conversation going—and continue shaping the future of maritime safety, together.
See you again soon!
