In May 2025, Kewatec will host a significant international event, Kovatec – Civil Security Days, focused on the future of civil maritime security in Europe. This two-day gathering will bring together experts, authorities, and technology leaders to address emerging security challenges and present solutions that meet today’s operational demands.
The event, taking place in Kokkola on May 20–21, is divided into two parts:
• Day one (May 20) at Kokkola City Hall focuses on expert presentations, panel discussions, and networking.
• Day two (May 21) at the Kewatec shipyard offers live demonstrations, supplier showcases, and a unique opportunity to test-drive specialized SAR and pilot vessels.
Program highlights include:
• Keynote speeches by experts in maritime security, artificial intelligence, and national preparedness
• Discussions on the role of civil actors in European security
• Hands-on test drives of Kewatec’s purpose-built vessels
• Supplier and technology showcases, plus factory tours
“Kovatec provides an important platform where decision-makers, end-users, and industry leaders can come together to develop solutions for a changing security landscape,” says Juuso Savolainen, Event Coordinator at Kewatec.
Participants are expected from across Europe, including representatives from rescue organizations, border security, manufacturers, and authorities.
